CBD Vs. HHC: What’s It All About?

As legalization for hemp and other cannabis products expands, consumers are increasingly curious about the choices available. This includes cannabidiol and tetrahydrocannabinol. These natural compounds are found in plants belonging to the Cannabinol Genus. CBD can also be extracted from cannabis or hemp.

Hemp and cannabis are both derived from the Canna sativa tree. CBD products include oils, gels, thc free cbd gummies ,and other supplements.

THC, the main psychoactive ingredient in cannabis, produces a high sensation. It can also be consumed as smokeless cannabis. It is also available as oils, edibles or tinctures, capsules, and many other forms. Although both compounds interact with your body’s endocrinoid system they have very distinct effects.

CBD And THC: Chemical Structure

THC and CBD share the same molecular structures: 21 carbon atoms (21 carbon atoms), 30 hydrogen atoms (two oxygen atoms), and 2 oxygen. You may feel different effects depending on how the atoms have been arranged.

THC and CBD have chemical similarities to your body’s endocannabinoids. These can interact with your receptors for cannabinoids.

The interaction can alter the release of brain neurotransmitters. Neurotransmitters are chemicals that transmit messages between cells. They play roles in pain, sleep, immune function, and stress.

CBD And THC: The Psychoactive Components

Despite being similar in chemical structure, CBD and THC do not have the same psychoactive effects. CBD is still psychoactive but not in the same way as THC. It does not produce the THC-like high. The effects of CBD on anxiety, depression, and seizures have been proven to be beneficial.

THC binds to the brain’s cannabinoid 1 receptors (CB1). It can produce a high, or sense of euphoria.

CBD only weakly binds to CB1 receptors. CBD requires THC to bind the CB1 receptor. This, in turn, can help reduce some unwanted psychoactive effects of THC such as euphoria, sedation, and sleepiness.

CBD And THC: The Medical Benefits

They may provide relief for many of the same conditions. CBD doesn’t have the same euphoric effects as THC. CBD may be preferred by some because it doesn’t have this side effect.

CBD is also used to treat other conditions like:

  • seizures
  • inflammation
  • pain
  • Psychosis or mental disorders
  • Inflammatory bowel Disease
  • nausea
  • migraine
  • Depression
  • anxiety

THC is used for the following purposes:

  • pain
  • muscle spasticity
  • glaucoma
  • insomnia
  • Low appetite
  • nausea
  • Anxiety

CBD And THC: Drug Testing

THC and CBD can be stored in your body’s fat. After you have used them, they can be detected in drug tests for up to two weeks.

While not all drug tests will detect CBD, some CBD-sensitive tests can be used. THC and marijuana use could be detected on most standard drug tests.

Hemp can also produce THC. Therefore, even if you don’t use it, a test for THC could prove positive.

It is important to keep in mind that THC-free products might not contain THC. You should avoid CBD and THC products if you are drug tested.

What Is The Point Of Talking About CBD Oil’s THC Content If They Are Not Two Distinct Compounds?

THC and CBD are two of the most potent cannabinoids found within the cannabis plant. Both cannabis and hemp contain CBD and THC. THC is found in cannabis, but it has a higher percentage. Hemp has a higher CBD content.

The average marijuana strain today has 12% THC. Due to the low concentration of THC in hemp plants, CBD oil might contain small amounts. CBD cannot contain more than 0.3 percent of THC to be legally legal at the federal levels.
